Plasma Farmers and the Sustainable Palm Oil Ecosystem

Rizky Pratama

More Than Just Corporate Social Responsibility

When we talk about "500+ farming families supported," we are not referring to a CSR program designed for annual reports. We are talking about a business partnership built to benefit all parties in a sustainable way.

The Partnership Model We Have Built

Smallholder farmers typically face a classic problem: they produce Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) but have no access to processing technology. All the added value is concentrated in mills and large corporations.

Our model reverses this logic. We partner with farmer cooperatives to collect EFB — previously discarded as waste — and pay them per ton. Farmers earn additional income from the "waste" they produce. We secure raw materials at a competitive cost without needing to develop our own plantations.

Measurable Impact

The average additional income received by each partner farming family is IDR 1.2 million per month from EFB sales. This figure may seem modest, but for families with a primary income of IDR 3–4 million per month, a 30% increase is deeply meaningful.
